Just weeks ago, Xiaoly moved her pastry shop to a bigger, better space at 18, Jalan SS2/72, Petaling Jaya (next to Toast and Roast), tucked away from the hustle and bustle of PJ City.

“It’s a bigger space than the previous one. I would describe this as a pastry place because there are more than just sweets,” said Koh, adding that there are also sweet and savoury pastries on the menu.

Named Moon Dream, this seven-inch cake from xiao by crustz is filled with citrus and earl grey flavours. To be specific, it features a sable vennoise (a type of cookie), lemon financier, bergamot confit, earl grey ganache, light citrus mousse.

Like many other treats mentioned in this list, this cake features a rabbit illustration, mixed in with some gold foiling.

This heart-melting ice cream dessert is an oxymoron of a burst of tropical flavours in the form of a seal.

Xiao-Ly Koh, the person behind Tanuki by Crustz says she wants to do her small part for the environment. “We want to remind our guests about animals that are affected by climate change. They are like our dessert melting in the heat,” she says.

The fuzzy surface on the outermost layer of The Seal is created using a chocolate velvet spray. The dessert is a combination of different textures; from the traditional homecooked pineapple chunks to the refreshing mango sorbet and the creamy coconut ice cream.

Xiao-Ly and her team created delightful CNY mini cakes with designs featuring the Ox, Koi fish, tea pot and others. These desserts come in different sizes with various flavours, textures and vibrant colours.

She initially started crafting pastries in her kitchen, before acquiring a degree in pastry arts. Inspired by traditional food and snacks, she decided to create these unique CNY creations at her patisserie, Xiao by Crustz, in Petaling Jaya.

The Coconut at Xiao by Crustz is entirely edible from the “husk” of the coconut to the chocolate straw. The dessert is made of coconut mousse, banana passion fruit compote, a crunchy base made of coconut, and a coating of dark chocolate to imitate the coconut husk. Xiao by Crustz is another shop owned by Xiao-Ly Koh.

If you adore the desserts at Xiao by Crustz in Petaling Jaya, you will love their new cafe that focuses on ice cream cakes and sorbet floats. Gorgeous on the plate and on the palate, the space will double that happiness.

The Santa's Workshop (RM105) and Winter Wonderland (RM105) gift sets each come with a set of four Petit Gâteau (a French word for small cakes) of your choice.

The AZALEA gift box (RM198) consists of five Petit Gâteau, as well as five assorted macarons all packed in a wooden box.

Xiao by crustz is offering quite the selection of Christmas specials this holiday season, from a whole cake to a variety of smaller delights.

The seven-inch Red Xmas is a strawberry shortcake made with a vanilla sponge, strawberry confit, light mascarpone vanilla cream, sable vennoisse, and fresh strawberries. Priced at RM148, this whole cake needs to be ordered at least a day in advance.
